Routine Damper Inspections Blog Image

Depending on the industry your facility falls under determines when damper inspections are due per state and local building codes. Non-healthcare facilities will need to renew inspection guidelines every 4 years and every 6 years in hospitals. All types of dampers are included within these regulations; fire dampers, smoke dampers and combination dampers.

Fire and smoke dampers are found within a facilities passive fire protection safety plan and should not be overlooked when it comes to routine maintenance and required inspections. Dampers fail routine inspections quite often so the chances of your dampers being deficient within the 4 years of inspection is high, if you ever suspect a malfunctioning damper, it is important to call in our team of professionals as soon as possible. These dampers play a pivotal role in compartmentalizing a facility during a fire emergency. As they contain the fire and smoke in one specific area, allowing occupants to exit and emergency crews to enter safely.

Damper Code
